Annual Witches of Delray Beach Bike Ride Benefits Achievement Centers for Children & Families

The 12th Annual Witches of Delray Beach Bike Ride, organized by the Achievement Centers for Children & Families (ACCF), featured a new scenic route last month. Other events were available for the community to enjoy throughout the month-long celebration, such as the Witchy Walk at the Sandoway Discovery Center, Witch Trivia at Tim Finnegan’s, and the Hocus Pocus Brunch at Del Fuego. Following the ride, the festivities occurred at Anchor Park, where attendees enjoyed music and witnessed an awards ceremony. Brandy Lee took home the prize for Best Costume, while Luba Fry won Best Witch Cackle. Dr. Francesca Lewis won the Best Decorated Broom (Bike) award, and Living the Dream Witches were declared winners of the Best Group Theme.

Over 400 participants embarked on a new coastal route that began at Anchor Park, progressed east to AIA via Casuarina Rd., north to George Bush Blvd., and back along A1A. The Delray Beach Police Department was on hand to guide the ride. Prizes were awarded for “Best Costume,” “Best Witch Cackle,” “Best Decorated Broom (Bike),” and “Best Group Theme.”

Witches Bike Ride

The signature fundraiser for the Witches Ride, the Annual “Witches Brew,” was hosted by Tim Finnegan’s Irish Pub in Delray Beach. As a long-time event partner, the pub provided the perfect setting for the event, featuring local celebrity DJ Gary Gore, a 50/50 raffle, and a bike raffle arranged by Lisa Walsh, the owner of Tim Finnegan’s.

The funds raised from the Witches’ events contribute directly to Delray Beach’s Achievement Centers for Children & Families. This community-based organization is committed to serving underprivileged children and families in Delray Beach and neighboring communities.

“Our Witches community raised more than $33,000 this year to support ACCF and the Children and Families we serve within the community,” Julia Corliss says, ACCF’s Event Manager. “We love working alongside the Alpha & Beta Witches and our Flying Monkeys [volunteers] to continue spreading the magic throughout the Delray Beach community. The entire team at ACCF thanks everyone for their time, energy, sponsorship, and love year after year.”
