Kier has returned six Victorian-era stone statues to the rooftop of the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow.

The contractor is leading the redevelopment of the ageing theatre, which first opened in 1878.

The six statues represent the four Greek muses – Melpomene (tragedy), Thalia (comedy), Euterpe (song and poetry) and Terpsichore (dance) – as well as William Shakespeare and Robert Burns.

Residing in the theatre’s foyer since 1989, the sculptures have now been returned to the building’s rooftop after restoration.
